Crayon Resist

I learned about another way to make those cute cards Susan Wright showed us at the Stampin' Up meeting. U use crayons instead of a metallic pencil to outline your images. So here are the ones I made, I am ordering a flower stamp of some kind this week so we can use a flower on our cards we make at the July party.

Hi Michelle,
Thanks for stopping by and yes of course you can join in the matchbox swap! We'd love to have you, you're super talented! I love the ATCs you did, the polymer clay one, wow what a great idea and you did it so well! I love the crayon resist technique, I must try that, and go through Leroy's crayon supply! Paris is beautiful as so is her mommy!
Take care,
Natasha : )

Came across your blog from swap-bot. Your things are so beautiful! I am new to all this. I also have a million questions for you. What is crayon resist? I saw stamp resist pad at joanne's, but didn't know how to use it. I love vintage and shabby chic and I am very interested in learning more. I have done painting, sewing, card making, and just about everything else but this scrapbooking/altered things until now. Do you recommend a good book to learn more?

Thanks so much~
Shelly

Well crayon resist is where you color a white crayon along an image, after you have stamped the image, and then you take a douber and doub ink all around the image, even over where you color the crayon.....after you are done inking your image you take a tissue and wipe the ink off the crayon part, you cant tell where it is because less ink is there, and it will hopefully leave a white outline around your image. This trick is you have to use glossy paper, permanent ink, such as stampin up ink or staz-on. You can look up crayon resist on google and you may come up with better instructions. I haven't used a book to learn new things so i cant recommend a book, but you can go to Michaels, I know they have great altered images, and trading card books. Visit natashaburns.com to see more about the shabby chic style, i am learning a lot from her, I have just been searching a lot of blogs and peeking at a lot of other swap bot members blogs to see new things.....If you have any more questions I would be happy to answer them!
